JST PCB Wire-to-Board & Wire-to-Wire Connector Ranges

Over several years Connect-2 Technology has experienced a steady increase in customer demand for JST PCB crimp assemblies, which allow high reliability connection between PCBs and other equipment components. A large part of the demand has come due to JST’s commitment to their development in technology to keep pace with the ever shrinking nature of electronic circuit and product design.

The computational power of a room full of computer equipment from just a few decades ago, can now be stored in a briefcase. Just about any electronic product from common household items to medical instruments are now smaller, smarter and more efficient due to the relentless drive to downsize circuitry and increase functionality. JST’s connector ranges and the techniques developed to make them, have kept pace with and in some instances helped to enable these dramatic improvements.

Connect-2 Technology currently holds crimp applicator tooling for a number of JST’s crimp PCB and Wire-to-Wire connector ranges, which are summarised below. Tooling and terminal/housing stock are normally quick and easy to arrange (subject to minimum reel sizes) and tooling costs are extremely reasonable (subject to 6 month minimum lease contract).

Wire-to-Board Crimp style Connectors:

ZH connector 1.5mm pitch / Disconnectable.

The ZH connector is very small with a mounting height of 5.6mm and a thickness of only 3.5mm. Contact retention lances on the housing make insertion easier, while the dimple at the centre of the contact ensures reliable contact with the post.

PH connector 2.0mm pitch / Disconnectable.

This is a thin, low-profile 2.0mm pitch connector 8.0mm in height after mounting and 4.5mm in width. It is designed to meet the demand for high-density connection of internal wires to printed circuit boards in a compact, highly reliable and low cost package.

EH connector 2.5mm pitch / Disconnectable.

This, the thinnest, 2.5mm pitch connector, is 8.1mm in height after mounting and 3.8mm in width. It is designed to meet the demand for high-density connection of internal wires to printed circuit boards in a compact, highly reliable and low cost package.

VH connector 3.96mm pitch / Disconnectable.

This small, field-proven connector range for printed circuit boards is reliable and has a large current carrying capacity. It can be used in conjunction with a wide variety of signal, power and output circuits.

Wire-to-Wire Crimp style Connectors:

SM connector 2.5mm pitch / Disconnectable.

The SM series are 2.5mm pitch, wire-to-wire connectors that perform reliably in high-density, small current applications.

RCY connector 2.5mm pitch / Disconnectable.

The RCY connector is a compact, 2.5mm pitch wire-to-wire connector for use with a variety of circuits, in compact electrical equipment applications. The employment of a free spring contact method ensures stable contact performance.

• Spring contact construction effectively minimising stress from repeated insertion and removal at high temperatures .
• Compact design – when mated the overall length is just 23.3mm with a 4mm width.
  Due to the internal lock inside the housing accidental disconnect by external pressure is minimised.
• Current rating: 3A AC/DC; Voltage rating: 250V AC/DC; Temp range: -25°C to +85°C.
• Applicable Wire Sizes: AWG #28 to #22.
